Course Overview
This unit specifies the outcomes required for the operation of a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more) for licensing purposes and involves the operation of a telescoping device, hinged device, articulated device or a combination of these used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated to perform work.
Outcomes
This course enables participants to acquire the necessary skills needed to safely operate an
elevating work platform. Participants will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment and an NT Worksafe assessment report. Accrete will submit the report to obtain a license on behalf of the participant.
Clothing & Footwear
A minimum standard of clothing for practical training consisting of long trousers and long sleeved shirt is mandatory. Accrete operates an enclosed shoe site, fully enclosed footwear is required.
Failure to wear the correct clothing or footwear may result in training being refused.
Drug & Alcohol Policy
Alcohol cannot be consumed on Accrete premises. In the opinion of management, if a participant is under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, then management shall remove that person from Accrete premises. Notification to the person’s employer may be made if the employer paid for the course.
Pre-requisites
Participants must be over 18 years of age and provide proof of a current driver’s license, prior to training being confirmed. Photo i.d. must be sighted by the facilitator at the time of training.

Assessments
Assessment for the unit of competency will involve practical exercises and a theory assessment that can be conducted as a written or verbal assessment. Accrete provide a flexible range of methods to ensure participants are exposed to a variety of situations during training to assist in skills development. Participants are assessed by our qualified facilitators based upon their level of participation in addition to written assessments and practical observations.
